Apple隨iOS 11更新，預設將拍照格式改為HEIC/HEIF，其壓縮率較高，可更有效減少網路傳輸與儲存大小。heic2any為一款Javascript開發，核心為libheif基於ISO/IEC 23008-12:2017規範，並使用libde265所開發出的加解碼程序，並再通過emscripten編譯成libheif.js，而heic2any為其封裝版，提供開發者簡易的使用與轉換功能，使heic檔能於node.js或瀏覽器端轉檔或呈現。
